About us
Who are we?
The Keleny Translation Company has deep roots in Montreal, particularly in the precise and demanding legal/judicial domain. Our sterling reputation is built and maintained on our unfailing dedication to quality, accuracy and customer satisfaction. The Keleny Translation Company adheres to traditional business customs and ethics. These are the principles that were instilled by the company’s founder, Henri Keleny.
Henri Keleny was born in Budapest, Hungary. He later spent time in Vienna and Paris before settling in Montreal. Enterprising and ambitious, by 1958 he had established the translation company and become an official photographer for the Montreal Courthouse. Honesty, integrity and fairness were Henri’s hallmarks and today, remain at the core of the company’s values.
Paul Keleny, Henri’s son, joined the firm after graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University in Mathematics. Since 2001, Paul has been in charge of the firm as Managing Director. Paul also helped establish The Association of Legal Court Translators and Interpreters (ALCIT), a professional association created to craft a code of ethics and guidelines for translators and interpreters. He is presently the Director of the ALCIT.
The company’s main office includes 15 full-time staff members that collectively oversee and manage our extensive network of interpreters, translators and other specialists. Our project managers take responsibility for our clients’ needs, from requests for quotes, to coordination of resources and, ultimately, their satisfaction.
For more than half a century, the company has earned the trust of both the business and legal communities. Looking forward, we are expanding our scope and broadening our customer base. Some of our recently added clients are in the financial, medical and aerospace sectors. Our clients benefit from the resources and expertise of a large and experienced translation organization.
